What is My Why? And Why You Should Know Yours.

Updated: Nov 10, 2021

I started ShuBu Creative when my daughter was 2 years old and my son was 6 years old. I wanted to have more flexibility for my kids. I decided to leave a well-known real estate brokerage where I was the VP of Marketing, making a lot of money and doing incredible things. However, I didn't have a complete plan in place. I didn't have any investors. I also didn't know what was ahead of me. So I left "unplugged," as I heard someone tell me at the time.

However, I always envisioned opening an agency one day, so it was a "now or never" kind of decision. But, I knew in my heart this was what I wanted to do in my future.

After applying for a few jobs that likely wouldn't be any different, in December of 2018, I opened a branding firm.

I found clients through connections from past jobs. I joined networking groups. I emailed old contacts. I posted on social media and sent mass emails. It was a vulnerable moment.

Through it all, I found support in the world of women in business, executive coaching and made some great new friends.

Now, almost three years later, I've more than doubled my annual revenue, tripled my clients, and expanded my offerings. I do this for my family, but also I love helping people make their vision a reality. I love creating brands that have purpose and impact. I care about my clients' success and dive deep to make their stories purposeful and impactful.

I take great pride in our work here at ShuBu and keep going every day knowing my why.

What is your why and how does it shape your story and brand?
